Empowering Communities Through Innovative Solutions

While there is increased acceptance of ICT in solving numerous challenges in our society such as in education, finance, and smart energy among others, there is still a gap in the impacts these interventions have on society. Our research approach enables the knowledge discovery process that provides evidence for informed policy and strategy formulation for the greater good. We work with stakeholders from FinTech, EdTech, and smart energy to derive data-oriented advisories.

At Real Link Centre for Research and Capacity Building, we are dedicated to leveraging technology to drive sustainable development and improve the quality of life for communities around the world. Our research in the Technology for Development (T4D) field explores how innovative solutions can address pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges.

Research Areas

  1. Digital Inclusion: Investigating strategies to bridge the digital divide, ensuring that underserved populations have access to information and communication technologies. Our research focuses on promoting equitable access to digital resources and fostering digital literacy.
  2. E-Governance: Exploring how technology can enhance government transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement. We study the implementation of digital platforms that facilitate access to public services and encourage participatory governance.
  3. Health Technologies: Examining the role of technology in improving health outcomes, particularly in low-resource settings. Our research includes mobile health (mHealth) applications, telemedicine, and data analytics to enhance healthcare delivery.
  4. Education Technologies: Assessing the impact of digital tools and online learning platforms on education access and quality. We focus on innovative pedagogical approaches that utilize technology to support learning in diverse contexts.
  5. Sustainable Development: Investigating how technology can promote environmental sustainability and resilience. Our research explores renewable energy solutions, smart agriculture, and data-driven approaches to address climate change.

Our Research Initiatives

  • Collaborative Projects: We partner with local communities, governments, NGOs, and other research institutions to co-create solutions that are contextually relevant and sustainable. These collaborations enhance the effectiveness and scalability of our findings.
  • User-Centered Design: Our research emphasizes the importance of understanding the needs and experiences of end-users. We engage with communities to ensure that our technological solutions are user-friendly, culturally appropriate, and impactful.
  • Capacity Building: We provide training and resources to empower local stakeholders, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to implement and maintain technological solutions effectively.
