We believe that women play a crucial part in our lives and more so in the rural setup. Our Gender inclusion strategy is based on three overarching principles: empowerment, support, and Engagement for sustainable development. Statistics show that there is still a considerable disparity in digital inclusion where women are still indicated to be lagging behind. Our capacity building has been designed to engage more women and youth which comprises the majority of the demographic composition put together. We believe that three strategic plan pillars addressing digital solutions help us mitigate the gender gap as follows:

  1. By empowering the women to adopt ICT tools that are available to them, they will reduce the efforts of physically attending markets to sell their wares, efforts to physically go to the centers to seek extension and advisory services, reduce frustration from using middle-persons who exploit them since they will be in touch with their clients directly among others.
  2. By supporting the women to find the best applicable apps for them, we ensure that they reduce the risks of falling victim to predatory apps that would harm them more than help them get a solution since we all know that the internet is not all friendly to everyone, they also minimize many risks of getting extension service that does not suit them since we know that there are apps that are only beneficial to other regions in the global north or in Asia, etc and
  3. By engaging them continuously, we ensure that we understand the dynamics that need to be addressed for their sustainable development.
